Who works for you:

kids photoPrimary Staff : Our staff work as a team sharing responsibilities. Because of the nature of our service, it's long hours and large numbers of children we have a large staff team. Each team is established for a year with a mind to consistency for the children. UTS Child Care Inc has a commitment to a high quality service and supports the employment of qualified Early childhood professionals, therefore a majority of our staff are trained in this profession. We have a core of permanent employees as well you will notice other staff during semester time as we have a few contracted positions to fill high demand times and a few regular casual staff to cover staff leave. Children are encouraged to form relationships with a variety of staff ensuring continuity of care when staff have leave.

If at first you find getting to know all of us a little daunting, consider that we try to get to know all of you, you might also like to refer to our photo board in the entrance.

Administration: In order to maximise our expenditure on staff actually working with your child we aim to minimise the administration where possible. The centre employs a full time administrator to run the centre's fee program and co ordinate the office requirements. Their working hours are up on the office door.

Kitchen Assistant: We employ a person to assist us in maintaining the provision of meals. While a catering company actually prepares the food, we heat, wash up and prepare the snacks.

Cleaning: The centre utilises the services of a contract cleaner on a daily basis.

Centre Director: The board of management has delegated the day to day management of the centre to its Director.  The centre director works an average of 40 hours per week which is spread over a 3 month period, allowing that at some times she will be available evenings /earlier or later and may have some very long days with days out at other times. If you wish to make an appointment to speak with the Director please drop a note in her communication pocket under the front clock or leave a message on the answering machine.

Children's Centre Co ordinator: The Board employs a Co ordinator to maintain consistency and accountability between all of its 3 services within UTS. Our Co ordinator, Debra Clarke, supports each centre Director as required, while managing the Board's interests.

Student staffStudents: The centre recognises its responsibility to the children's services field in providing opportunities for students from various Colleges and Universities to gain practical experience in working with young children. Such students are closely supervised by staff, and are never left in sole charge of any child or group of children.

Volunteers: The centre is fortunate to have the assistance of a number of volunteers from time to time. Volunteering is a great way to see what child care is about from the inside, we welcome volunteers from all walks of life. As a volunteer you may help feed babies, read stories or play with the kids. We never leave you in sole charge of any children and you will be supported by the centre staff. If you would like to volunteer or know some one who would like to please contact the centre.
